Description

“After every wash, there’s a moment that often gets overlooked. The coat is stripped of sweat and dirt, but it’s also left open, waiting for what comes next. Most grooming stops there. Rinse the suds, walk away. But I wanted more for the horses. I wanted that simple rinse to actually mean something. RinseCore™ was created to bridge that gap. It’s not about adding another bottle to the shelf, it’s about giving intention to the stage between cleansing and conditioning. A rinse that doesn’t just wash off, but supports the next step in the system.”

RinseCore™ – The Reset of the Ironhide Grooming System.
RinseCore™ is the second stage of the Ironhide Grooming System. A concentrated liquid rinse designed to follow ForgeClean™ and prepare the coat for ForgeSeal™. Always diluted before use, it turns an overlooked step into something purposeful.

Where most rinses are little more than water, RinseCore™ is built with intention. Every ingredient is chosen to play its role. Whether it’s clearing away leftover residues, helping restore balance, or making sure the coat is ready for conditioning. It’s about turning a routine rinse into a meaningful part of your horse’s care.

The Purpose
RinseCore™ isn’t about quick shine or surface tricks. It’s about value in the everyday. Used after every wash, or as a lighter reset between deeper cleans, it keeps the system moving. A clear, practical step that makes the rest of your grooming work harder.
This isn’t cheap to make – we chose ingredients for your horse’s long-term coat health, not fillers. That’s why it costs more, but that’s also why it works differently

Why It Matters
One of the most important choices in creating RinseCore™ was balance. Horses’ skin naturally sits within a range that can be disrupted if a product is too acidic or too alkaline. That’s why this rinse is adjusted with care – to sit closer to the horse’s natural level, working with the skin rather than against it.

RinseCore™ is more than a rinse. It’s intention, balance, and preparation in one, the stage that ties the system together.

Ingredient Breakdown

Every element in RinseCore™ is selected with intent. Nothing is added without purpose. Each ingredient has a place in traditional grooming and modern formulation, working together to support balance, freshness, and long-term coat care.

  • Aloe Vera Juice (Inner Leaf)
Long valued in natural care for leaving the skin feeling refreshed and soothed after heat, friction, or exposure. Traditionally used for skin softness and hydration.
  • Chamomile Hydrosol – a distilled floral water chosen for its calming, gentle qualities. Traditionally associated with easing sensitivity and adding a mild freshness to rinses.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw, Unfiltered) – traditionally used as a clarifier to help remove residue, sweat, or grime. Contributes to a fresh, clean coat finish without heaviness.
  • Vegetable Glycerin (Palm-Free) – widely used in grooming and skincare for its ability to attract and hold water, helping the coat feel supple and smooth after rinsing.
  • Vitamin E (Natural Tocopherol) – included to help protect the formula and support coat condition, while also offering antioxidant defense against environmental stress.
  • Colloidal Oat Flour – finely ground oats, traditionally valued for their role in calming itchiness and supporting skin resilience.
  • Magnesium Flakes (Magnesium Chloride) – often used post-exercise for relaxation. Traditionally recognised for helping ease muscle tension and supporting recovery.
  • Peppermint Essential Oil – chosen for its sharp, uplifting aroma and its long traditional use for a cooling, refreshing feel after work.
  • Lavender Essential Oil – widely associated with calm and comfort in traditional care routines. Provides a familiar, gentle aromatic finish.
  • Phenoxyethanol EHG – a modern, ECOCERT-approved preservative, blended with ethylhexylglycerin, ensuring stability and safety in water-based natural formulas.
  • Sodium Hydroxide (Carefully Diluted)
Used in precise, controlled amounts to adjust and maintain a balanced pH, helping the formula sit closer to the horse’s natural skin environment.

Independently reviewed using veterinary toxicology standards

We didn’t want to release something and hope it was safe.

If a product is going onto a horse regularly, it should be properly understood, not guessed.

So we put Rinsecore™ through a full safety process before it was ever offered to customers.

What we did:

  • Stability tested under real conditions
  • Assessed through a full toxicology review
  • Reviewed by veterinary toxicologists from the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS), the same service equine vets rely on when assessing risk in animals

This is as close as you can get to real-world equine safety assessment without testing directly on horses.

It’s a level of assessment most grooming products never go through.

The outcome was clear.

No significant toxicological concerns were identified when used as directed.

Below are the supporting documents for Rinsecore™.
Each one shows a different part of how the product has been assessed for safety and consistency.

Veterinary Toxicology Review (VPIS) (197 KB)
Safety Data Sheet (SDS) (247 KB)

Dilute 25-50ml of Rinsecore in 5L of clean water.
Apply evenly to the coat using a sponge or cloth. Do not rinse off.

Use 25ml for daily maintenance or light work.
Use 50ml after intense exercise or for deep cleaning.
for smaller areas dilute 10ml in 2l of water

For mud-prone legs, dilute 100ml in 5l of water and apply as a targeted rinse no more than once a week.

Rinsecore can be used regularly at low dilution,
high strength use (100ml per 5L) us bit is not intended for frequent application. always patch test on first use, dispose of diluted product after 24 hours.

For best results, we recommend starting with 25ml as your regular go-to. This is suitable for ongoing use and helps maintain a consistent, manageable coat without overdoing it. Move up to 50ml when the coat has been through more, such as after heavier work, sweat, or noticeable build-up. The 10ml in 2L dilution is ideal for patch testing or small areas, allowing you to understand how your horse responds without using unnecessary product. The 100ml dilution is designed as a stronger, targeted reset for more demanding areas like mud-prone legs. Because it works at a higher strength, it’s best used sparingly (no more than once a week) to avoid repeatedly pushing the coat too far in one direction, helping maintain a more stable, balanced feel over time.

Yes, Rinsecore™ was developed to help bring the coat back to balance after washing, supporting the skin and coat at the stage where they can feel stripped back or unsettled. It has been formulated with careful consideration of how a horse’s skin responds to ingredients over time, including the levels of raw materials used and always with sensitive horses in mind.

As with any new product though, we still recommend patch testing before first use to see how your horse responds.

After every wash, there is a stage that often gets overlooked.

The coat has been cleaned. Sweat, dirt and build up have been lifted away, but the coat can also be left feeling stripped back and unfinished. Most grooming routines stop there. Rinse the suds, walk away.

I wanted that final rinse to actually mean something.

RinseCore™ was created to bridge the gap between cleansing and conditioning. It is not about adding another bottle for the sake of it. It is about giving purpose to the stage after washing, before the coat is finished.

Instead of plain water alone, RinseCore™ brings in ingredients traditionally used for softness, freshness, moisture, comfort and coat condition, including aloe vera juice, chamomile hydrosol, raw apple cider vinegar, glycerin, colloidal oat flour, magnesium chloride, vitamin E, peppermint and lavender essential oils.

It is also pH adjusted to sit closer to the horse’s natural skin balance, helping the coat feel softer, smoother and more settled after washing.

Water rinses the wash away. RinseCore™ helps finish what comes next.

No. RinseCore™ is made using a carefully balanced blend of aloe vera juice, chamomile hydrosol, raw apple cider vinegar, glycerin, colloidal oat flour, magnesium chloride, vitamin E, essential oils and a modern preservative system.

It also contains a very small, carefully controlled amount of sodium hydroxide, used only to help adjust the final pH of the formula. It is fully dissolved into the product and is not present as a loose or separate ingredient.

Every ingredient and the final formula have been independently reviewed by veterinary toxicologists from the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS), who assess product safety based on real-world exposure risks.

RinseCore™ has also been prepared with supporting safety documentation and reviewed through Melbec as part of the product’s compliance process.

This matters because RinseCore™ is designed to be left on the coat after application, not rinsed away. The formula is pH adjusted to sit closer to the horse’s natural skin balance and should always be used as directed.

This review process helps ensure the product is considered safe for horses when used correctly.
Most grooming products aren’t reviewed at this level.

No. RinseCore™ is designed to be left on the coat.

After it has been diluted and applied, it stays on the coat as the next step after washing. If you rinse it away again, you remove the part of the system that is designed to help the coat feel softer, fresher and more settled after cleansing.

No. RinseCore™ is not an oil, balm or heavy conditioner.

It is designed to leave the coat feeling fresh, light and smooth after washing, without creating a greasy or waxy layer. ForgeSeal™ is the finishing product in the system if you want to add a light conditioning layer afterwards.
